Russia's White Sea
and Franz Josef Land

2011 Epic Arctic onboard
National Geographic Explorer

This trip was esentially three parts: Oslo and Svalbard (both coming and going), The White Sea, and Franz Josef Land. The location hyperlink will take you to google maps - use their controls to explore the map and then use the "back" button to return here. Enjoy! Please email me if you have questions or comments - and yes, I know there will be typos!

The following links will each take you to a gallery of images, usually of a particular spot or event from our trip. Once the gallery opens, use the red "Click Here for Options" near the upper left hand corner to change from the gallery (where you control which picture you look at and for how long) to the slideshow (auto viewing - click the little arrow under the photo to start) to about these photos (my brief notes on that set of images, sometimes including history and/or other observations; lots of the facts for these pages comes from Wikipedia). Use your browser's back button to return to this page. [NOTE: You can always use CTRL+ (hit both the CTRL key and the += key at the smae time) to make the text bigger!]
