Excerpts from the group journal, and a few quotes from the famous and not so famous:

"The best part was the beautiful terrain beneath our boots: an amazing array of plant life and flowers at the top of the final pass."

"It meant a lot to mean when Kirk stated that only certain and special people sign up for NOLS courses. It feels great to be a part of such an outstanding group of people."

"Life is short. God's Country most definitely."

"...we've become like family these last two weeks out here in the Winds..."

"As large as our experience has grown and as large as our hearts have grown there is always more out there to experience and learn; yet return after to simplicity. We met things larger than ourselves and found we are a part of it all."

"In all of nature, there is no sound more pleasing than that of a hungry animal at its' feed. Unless you are the food" - Edward Abbey

"Well, what do you think?"

Excerpt from "Wilderness Letter" by Wallace Stegner

Hey Folks! I hope you enjoy looking at some of my memories of the trip. This is by no means an all-incusive page - I need your input. If any of you have pictures or thoughts you would be willing to share, email me and I'll tell you how to pass them along. I especially need pictures of the men on the trip - I only have a few, and unfortunately they aren't very good; and (surprise) I only have two of me! I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys - comments, critisms or just a shout to say hey!
